My work aims to invoke a sense of wonder through transformation.

As an artist, this aim is realized through exploration of material and process. Utilizing modern technology and traditional techniques I challenge material limits, always taking another step, further, further. These explorations culminate in work that navigates between the analog and the automated, hand and machine.

As a designer, I believe that objects should have the ability to adapt to user needs, creating a seamless and intuitive experience. I begin with exhaustive market research as I determine what exists, how it works, and what’s missing. Following that research, I carefully consider how to gracefully implement dynamic functionality in the work. This process relies on time, as I let ideas breathe, develop, and reach resolution.
